Dive Brief:
- When it conducted its Global Human Capital Trends 2016 report earlier this year, Deloitte found that 85% of HR and business leaders identified engagement as a leading priority. Responding to an increasing skills gap and an added focus on employee engagement and retention, Deloitte is now offering ConnectMe, an integrated HR service delivery and collaboration platform. ConnectMe aims to enhance employee engagement through digital interactions with workplace services.
- According to Deloitte, the ConnectMe product capitalizes on an employer’s current technology investments by bringing disparate systems and HR teams together, with the result being a personalized, streamlined navigation to help HR make "intelligent choices."
- HR and IT leaders are leveraging the cloud to improve the digital workplace, helping employees feel more connected to their organizations. To that end, ConnectMe's willl offer HR teams a personalized desktop and mobile user experience, enabling employees "to access what they need, anywhere, anytime."
Dive Insight:
Digital transformation is a vey hot topic today, and it appears Deloitte's offering is focused on that trend. CHROs need new tools if they expect this transformation to happen within their workplace. Also, a survey this past summer found that when it comes to adopting new, emerging technologies – from cloud-based apps to online collaborative working, 84% of employers and employees across the U.S. and Western Europe said a digital transformation is critical in remaining competitive within their industries. Yet, the same participants said it's not happening fast enough.
Today's successful HR leaders are becoming more tech savvy, and industry observers are beginning to witness the positive effects of this trend on traditionally complicated areas like health benefits enrollment. Yet despite increases in both spending and technology-based efforts, some employers remain stuck in costly, siloed HR environments, disconnected from systems and teams managing payroll, benefits, recruiting and other functions. Today’s workforce expects interactions with HR to be effective, simple and intuitive.
