- While some might believe that "HR don't get no respect" in the business world, HR manager is one of the best jobs in the country, according to a recent Glassdoor study.
- On a 5-point scale, the Glassdoor Top 25 Job rankings had HR manager scoring 4.6, besting jobs such as physician assistant, product marketing manager and even software development manager, which had a median income of $135,000 (HR's median was $85,000).
- Glassdoor ranked the top jobs on three key factors – number of job openings, salary and career opportunities rating.

Statistically speaking (and using Glassdoor data), there were 3,468 job openings and a career opportunity rating of 3.7 out of 5.
Matthew English III, vice president of HR at Exelon Corp, told Workforce magazine that changing dynamics within the workplace mean employers need highly skilled HR professionals. At the same time, the pace of change is accelerating very quickly, he added. Because of that, employers seek "skilled and more innovative HR professionals" in the quest to attract and retain the best talent.
So what jobs bested HR manager? Data scientist, tax manager, solutions architect, engagement manager and mobile developer filled the top five spots, in that order.
