Dive Brief:
- An increasingly tight labor market is forcing more employers to utilize recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) to find talent, Roy Maurer reports for the SHRM blog.
- An Everest Group report indicates an uptick of 17% in 2015 from the previous year. Most of this can be attributed to new global deals and scarcity of talent. Korn Ferry Futurestep, an RPO provider, has also seen positive growth, adding that clients want to see more value-added services like recruitment marketing, outplacement support, and diversity hiring, as well as managed search capabilities.
- More than 40% of RPO services are bundled with technology, says the Everest report.
Dive Insight:
A growing number of companies have realized the time and cost savings of working with RPO vendors in the last few years. Competition for talent is fierce and therefore companies need an advantage in the market. RPO providers have the technology, resources, and connections to make recruitment more efficient.
It's not surprising to see that organizations are also requiring more one-stop-shop services to further streamline recruitment processes. We visited this topic last year with our predictions for HR, and RPO was already emerging as a trend. A benefit of RPO is that it can also support greater diversity in hiring as it opens up the candidate pool.
