Ten years ago, the same long-running survey found that talent leaders were focused on claiming a seat at the table.
They now have that seat, according to the Society for Human Resource Management, but may need to be looped in on strategic conversations sooner.
That’s because ongoing workplace changes require robust talent strategies, various experts have said. Employers cannot afford to minimize the importance of workforce planning, The Conference Board warned in 2023.
Thursday’s report echoed those calls to talent leaders: “The future demands that you reimagine work in the age of AI, balancing ethical applications and optimal efficiencies, while understanding how to skill and supercharge your workforce to gain the greatest potential from both people and technology.”
