Dive Brief:
- G2 Crowd, a business software review site, has released its updated Grid℠ 2015 report for core human resources software, ranking eight products to help HR purchasers in their selections.
- UltiPro and Workday were named Leaders in the report, receiving strong customer satisfaction scores with a large market presence. Dayforce and BambooHR were named High Performers, earning strong customer satisfaction marks with smaller market presence scores.
- The Grid, created from G2 Crowd’s software review platform, factors in customer satisfaction reported by users, along with vendor market presence determined from social and public data to rank products. The report is based on more than 240 reviews written by business and HR professionals. Of the more than 60 software vendors listed in G2 Crowd’s Core HR Software category, the ranked products each received 10 or more reviews to qualify.
Dive Insight:
While there were many positive comments about the top-rated platforms, customization and API integration proved to be two of the more contentious features, according to Ben Legman, research manager for G2 Crowd.
"Not only did they have the lowest average satisfaction scores across all features [73% for each], but a majority of products included in the report scored below average," he says. "These two features might account for the low average satisfaction score for Ease of Setup, at 71%."
Legman adds that there also seemed to be a correlation between size, customizability, singularity of the product and amount of effort needed for upkeep. "For larger systems, score was often influenced by how well a normal group of HR professionals could manipulate the product themselves, as expressed in many reviews," he says. "As a result, poorly-rated large products could be good options for teams that are staffed correctly.”
